New Atlanta Restaurant Cafe in the City Serves Southern Soul Food With a Twist

ATLANTA, Ga. (ATL Live) - Southern comfort food is getting a stylish new spin at Cafe in the City, one of Atlanta’s newest restaurants located on Marietta Street near West Midtown! Opened in October, the restaurant is the latest venture from owner Gloria Smith, who also owns Cafe Social House. Known for serving dishes in oversized martini glasses, Cafe in the City offers everything from shrimp and grits and fresh salmon to crispy Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese and hearty breakfast favorites. The space also features a coffee bar where guests can grab a latte, catch up with friends or settle in for a little work.But for Smith, the restaurant is about more than what’s on the menu. Inspired by her grandmother’s love of cooking and bringing people together, Smith has built her businesses around food, family and community.
